Wanted: Manuals 1 – Design and Identity Guidelines
For graphic designers like myself, especially for those of us with branding backgrounds who have a passion for identity design and all it’s permutations, this might as well be our Holy Grail.
I haven’t seen or flipped through this in person but it looks like a dream compendium consisting of spread after spread of some of the most legendary branding guidelines that came out of it’s most formative years (1960’s to the early 1980’s).
Lufthansa, Expo ‘67, CBC, NYC Subway system etc. a great compilation that explores amazing brand thinking and corporate design. There’s even an foreword by Massimo Vignelli. Looks amazing.
